Together they purchased the Delaware Chair Company in Delaware, Ohio in 1940, eventually relocating to Christiansburg, Virginia, where the Sam Moore Chair Company was born. The company continued to grow and has always been known as a leading resource for both traditional and stylish accent seating. 2007 saw an acquisition by Hooker Furnishings, and in 2023 the company was rebranded as HF Custom.

HF Custom is a part of the Hooker Furniture family of fine home furnishings brands and related to their Bradington-Young division of fine leather furniture. They are known for offering a fresh take on classic pieces. They also specialize in trendy transitional seating styles available in hundreds of custom fabrics and detailing options.
