Family-owned since 1947, Sedlak Interiors has become the leader in fine furnishings and home decorating by providing quality furniture, great prices, excellent customer service and a legendary selection.
The Beginning
The Sedlak story is a legend in the retail business industry. In 1947, John P. Sedlak (fondly known as JP for Jet-Propelled) started what was to become Sedlak Interiors. With only $2 in his pocket, he bought jewelry at cost from an acquaintance and began selling it. JP soon realized that engagement rings meant marriages and marriages meant new homes. JP started selling refrigerators, electric roasters and even auto parts. By 1949, the fledgling business had grown to the point where JP opened his first store on Woodland Avenue near Shaker Square in Cleveland, Ohio.
A New Era
Over the next 40 years, as the Sedlak family grew, Sedlak Interiors also grew
and grew with its reputation for discount prices and excellent find-exactly-what-you-need
service. It even outgrew the Woodland Avenue location (despite expanding into
14 buildings along the avenue). In 1989, the Sedlak family opened new headquarters
in Solon, Ohio the magnificent "Street of Dreams" 142,000-square-foot showcase showroom and warehouse, a dramatically increasing retail space.
Today, JP, his wife Dorothy, four of their five children (Jeff, Jan, Jack and June) and their grandson (Charles) manage the business, which has grown into the largest and most complete furniture store of its kind in Ohio.

Our 100,000-square-foot "Street of Dreams" showroom features hundreds of the top brands from all over the world displayed in 27 inviting galleries, each with many fully accessorized room settings. Our showroom's size and selection make Sedlak Interiors one of the largest and most complete furniture stores of its kind in Ohio.
